A Message From D-Max
Hey, I’m D-Max. I’m 13, and I’m all about giving back to my community in every way I can. Over the years, my mom and I have teamed up on all kinds of fundraisers, raising money and volunteering our time to help wherever it’s needed. One of my favorite projects will always be my BIRTHDAY CAKE FUNDRAISER, where we collected over 1,000 cake items so kids who couldn’t afford a birthday cake could still celebrate their big day.
This year, I partnered with Maine Savings and together we collected nearly 3,000 items across the state to support kids and families in need. It’s amazing to see the difference a little kindness can make. I can’t wait to keep finding new ways to help people smile and spread positivity in my community!
Will You Help Me Feed
Hungry Kids?
We know that there are a lot of hungry kids in Maine. Right now approximately 47,000 kids are dealing with food insecurity in our state. Lisa Liberatore is a natural helper and so is her son.
Kids get meals from the school for free, but snacks are a different story. Teachers purchase them or kind parents donate them but we want to come up with a sustainable solution!
Once Dorian saw how many kids in his own school didn’t have access to snacks or how many people went hungry every day, he asked what else could be done? Lisa suggested raising money and Dorian said, let's sell something! And we can use the money we earn to buy snacks! So that’s what we did! They have gone on to do more than a dozen fundraisers- some selling merch, others raising money and awareness.
